MacBook Logic Board Repair Near Sandton and Rosebank | ZA Support Hyde Park

MacBook logic board repair for Sandton and Rosebank clients. ZA Support Hyde Park is 8 minutes from Sandton City, 6 minutes from Rosebank Mall. From R599 assessment, up to 3-year warranty, all MacBook Pro and Air models.

If you are based in Sandton or Rosebank and your MacBook has developed a logic board fault, you do not need to send it to Cape Town, wait three weeks, or pay Apple Store prices for a full board replacement. ZA Support is in Hyde Park β€” 8 minutes from Sandton City, 6 minutes from Rosebank Mall β€” and we specialise in MacBook logic board repair at the component level.

We have repaired more than 18,000 Apple devices in our Hyde Park workshop since we opened. Our client base includes professionals from Investec and other financial services firms in Sandton, GP and specialist practices in Morningside, and creative and technology companies in Rosebank and Dunkeld. This article explains what we do, how the process works, and why local expert repair makes more sense than the alternatives.

What a Logic Board Fault Looks Like

Logic board faults present in many different ways, and not all of them are obvious. The most clear-cut case is a MacBook that does not power on at all β€” you press the power button and nothing happens. But we also see machines that:

Power on but shut down randomly after a few minutes. Display unusual artefacts or flickering on the screen. Boot to a grey or black screen without reaching the login window. Run extremely slowly and report hardware errors in Apple Diagnostics. Charge intermittently or not at all, even with a working charger. Start normally but crash under load β€” during video export, large compilations, or sustained multitasking.

All of these can point to a logic board fault. Some are simple component failures β€” a failed MOSFET, a faulty capacitor, a corroded connector β€” that we resolve in a day or two. Others are more complex, involving micro-soldering under magnification to repair or replace chip-level components. Either way, our approach is the same: diagnose precisely, repair specifically, and test thoroughly before returning the machine.

Why Sandton and Rosebank Clients Come to Us

Proximity without compromise. Sandton clients often mention that they expected to find logic board repair services only in Johannesburg CBD or online. Hyde Park is closer than they expected, and the drive is straightforward β€” William Nicol to William Road, or Jan Smuts from Rosebank. Parking is available directly at our workshop.

Same-day assessment. We assess most machines the same day they arrive. You will leave your MacBook with us in the morning and typically receive a written fault report and repair quote by end of business. This matters when your device is your primary work tool.

No fix, no fee. We only charge the repair fee if we successfully repair the fault. If we assess the machine and determine that the board cannot be repaired β€” either because the fault is beyond component-level repair or because the repair cost would not be economical β€” we return the machine to you and charge only the R599 assessment fee. There are no hidden costs.

Data stays on your machine. Unlike a full board swap (which usually means a new SSD), our component-level repair leaves your storage untouched. In the vast majority of cases, your files, applications, and settings are exactly where you left them when you collect the repaired machine.

Up to 3-year warranty. Every repair we carry out is covered by a written warranty for up to three years on the specific fault addressed. For corporate clients in Sandton who manage device fleets, this warranty is included in the repair documentation for your IT records.

Client Stories from Sandton and Rosebank

A senior associate at an investment bank in Sandton brought us his MacBook Pro 16-inch M2 Max after it shut down mid-presentation and would not restart. The Apple Store had quoted R42,000 for a full board replacement. We identified a failed MOSFET on the primary power rail, replaced it, and returned the machine in three working days. Total cost: R5,800. The machine has been running without issue for over a year.

A GP practice in Morningside β€” 10 minutes from our workshop β€” had a MacBook Pro 14-inch used for clinical management software develop a liquid damage fault after a water bottle spilled in the reception area. We received the machine within two hours of the incident, performed an emergency clean and dry, identified and replaced two corroded components on the USB-C power circuit, and returned the machine within four days. The practice avoided both data loss and device replacement cost.

A creative director at a Rosebank agency brought in a MacBook Pro 16-inch Intel 2019 with classic AMD GPU artefacts. We reflowed the GPU, replaced thermal compound, and addressed a secondary capacitor fault identified during inspection. Repair cost R7,200. The machine has been running the agency's After Effects and Premiere work for over 18 months since.
